(October 23, 2006): Support for Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0

Dear Symyx Customer:

As you are probably aware, Microsoft released Internet Explorer 7.0 earlier this month (October of 2006).

We want to assure you that, in line with our standard support policy (available at http://www.mdl.com/support/knowledgebase/product_installation/support_status_
guidelines.jsp
), we do intend to support this major upgrade of Internet Explorer.

Symyx has been working closely with Microsoft to assess this new product, including evaluation of Beta versions. However, based on our previous experience that major changes can happen between beta and final release, Symyx can only conduct a complete compatibility test after we have received the final release of the product.

We will complete this testing as quickly as possible. Once we have preliminary results, we will inform you of any known issues and our plans to address them. At this time, Symyx products are not supported with Internet Explorer 7.0, and Symyx is aware that changes in the Internet Explorer security model will have a significant impact on our Chime and Chime Pro applications.
