(March 24, 2006) Support Statement: Support of Symyx Products on 64-bit versions of Microsoft Windows
 

Dear Symyx Customer:

At present, our server software supports only 32-bit Windows and, therefore, only 32-bit versions of Oracle on Windows.

Symyx understands that customers have a variety of platform configurations and face many platform decisions. As with all platform support decisions, we strive to be as customer driven as possible, while also factoring in the technical and business considerations in each situation.

We have started gathering customer feedback on the desire to run Symyx server products on 64-bit Windows and/or to use 64-bit Oracle on Windows - this market research will include the upcoming annual Symyx Hardware & Software survey. Based on customer feedback, we will consider support but at this stage cannot comment on a timescale. We will keep you informed of any future developments.

Please note that we have no plans to support 64-bit Windows for our client applications.
