Dear Symyx Customer:
For many years, Symyx has delivered its software and database products to you on physical media such as tape or CD. As you have probably noticed, and in line with industry trends, we now only deliver our documentation in electronic formats. This letter is to inform you of our intention to move to electronic-only delivery of our software products as well.
This migration has already begun, with the recent Symyx ISIS/Host 5.1 and upcoming Symyx Assay Explorer 3.0 releases being Web-only shipments. We expect that by mid 2006 all product updates and new Symyx software products, with the single exception of CrossFire Server, will be Web-only shipments.
We are actively investigating the use of Internet technologies for database delivery too but, until further notice, we will continue to ship quarterly or twice yearly database updates via CD. The current exceptions to this are the monthly "MDDR Previews" and the twice-monthly Symyx Patent Chemistry Database updates which are available as downloads from the Symyx Download centre.
We will continue to advise you as new product updates are released. These updates will be ready for immediate download from the Symyx Download centre, http://www.mdli.com/downloads using the Web account(s) which are provided to the named Ship-To contacts at your site(s).
