T06-2002: ISIS/Desktop Add-Ins May Be Disabled on Machines Running Microsoft Windows 2000 and Microsoft Windows XP |

Program ISIS/Base 2.4Operating System Microsoft Windows 2000Description On Microsoft Windows 2000 or Microsoft Windows XP machines, users may receive the following ISIS/Base error message on startup of ISIS/Base: "Unable to initialize ISIS/Base Add-In Manager"Users may receive the following ISIS/Draw error message on startup of ISIS/Draw: "Unable to initialize ISIS/Draw Add-In Manager"In either case, no Add-Ins will be available to the user. Solution The installation of ISIS/Desktop writes some of its configuration data to .ini and .cfg files in the Microsoft Windows system directory (c:\winnt for Microsoft Windows 2000 and c:\windows for Microsoft Windows XP). With NTFS drives on the these two operating systems non-power users are not allowed to write to the .ini and .cfg files, therefore these files are read-only for non-power users.
